The Field Service Mechanical Fitter travels to Power Plants in the UK and worldwide and supports our internal and external customers with installation, stripdown, inspection, maintenance activities and reassembly of power units and their auxiliaries on units ranging from 2MW through to 2000MW. World class execution done Safely, on budget, with the right Quality.

This position requires technical competence in reading and interpreting engineering documents, Technical & Quality instructions and Engineering drawings. A thorough knowledge of Steam Turbines and Generator Technology is required.

Location: United Kingdom

Main Responsibilities:

Follow Appropriate Arabelle Solutions Policies, Procedures and complete necessary documentation.

Technical support – installation and preventative / corrective maintenance in customer’s equipment, maintaining all models of specific equipment of one or more modalities in the assigned area;

Evaluate customer equipment issues and implement appropriate repairs;

Interpretation of Engineering Drawings

Maintain communication with customers as directed, to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to strong customer relations and and ongoing customer satisfaction.

Work as a member of local team to provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within the assigned area;

Develop strong customer relationships and serve as an interface between the customer and Arabelle Solutions.

Comply with the integrity and compliance guidelines as well as promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with applicable EHS policies and procedures;

Understand all aspects of mechanical engineering measuring techniques to very high tolerances.

Work under strict Foreign Material Exclusion rules.

Experience in Large Turbine Generator Overhaul

Experience in Large Turbine & Generator Rotors

Knowledge of Generator Hydrogen Seal Dismantle / Assembly

Experience in Bearing Removal / Exchange ranging from approx. 4 inch to 21 inch Dia

Experience in Concentricity & Alignments

Experience in Auxillaries & Pumps

Perform other duties as assigned.

Extensive travel to and from projects and various field assignments will be required.

Basic qualifications and experience:

Recognised Time served Apprenticeship, HNC

City & Guilds or NVQ Equivalent in Mechanical Studies.

Extensive knowledge large rotating & static machinery.

Desired skills and experience:

Demonstrates individual & team skills.

Experience and training on Alstom, Siemens or other OEM equipment is preferred.

Fluent in English language.

Strong organisational skills.

Strong oral and written communication skills.
