About The Role

As a Mechanical Engineer you will have the opportunity to collaborate with various engineering teams to create detailed designs, plans, specifications and installation designs of complete mechanical systems and HVAC solutions for Data Centres. About You

We are looking for someone who is personable self-starter with the ability to project a positive ‘can do’ professional attitude at all times maintaining good working relationships. Someone who enjoys working collaboratively across disciplines being able to establish excellent working rapport within the team, business and with clients, with the ability to work under pressure, handle a varied workload and keep to tight deadlines whilst maintaining the highest level of technical excellence.

Responsibilities

In the role of Mechanical Engineer, we'll count on you to:

  • Agree design duties with your Project Manager and Office Principal / Team Leaders.
  • Carry out engineering concept design through to detailed design
  • Liaise with the design team to co-ordinate detailed designs and agree manufacturers and samples.
  • Maintain good client and design team relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Assist colleagues with identifying and implementing your personal training/CPD requirements. Help develop working practices in the Company.
  • Implement and manage tasks in accordance with QA systems and company procedures on all projects (our systems are certified to ISO9001 and ISO14001).
  • Assist with CAD resource requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a relevant subject
  • Experience of mechanical systems, HVAC engineering and multiples levels of resilience
  • Previous experience in mechanical system design for Data Center/Data Centre projects Is ESSENTIAL
  • Experience in commercial or institutional facilities
  • Computer experience using MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, manufacturer selection software
  • Previous experience within a design consultancy or engineering consulting firm
  • Skills in project managing on-going jobs with limited supervision are desirable
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
