Mechanical Engineer (Technical Support / Projects Office)

Up to £65,000 per annum, depending on experience

Ganymede Solutions is working in partnership with a leading Rail Company to recruit an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their growing rolling stock consultancy business.

As an Mechanical Engineer, you’ll play a key role in delivering best in class engineering solutions to a variety of clients within the rolling stock sector. This includes services to conventional rail, high speed, light rail and metro clients.

  • Leading delivery of major projects and supporting project bid work from an engineering technical and commercial perspective
  • You will be responsible for working directly with clients in the rail sector to deliver engineering solutions within fleet maintenance, overhaul/modification, obsolescence, reliability and performance and systems design & build.
  • Work carried out will include a variety of engineering support services and technical consultancy such as technical investigations, design support, feasibility studies, RCA, preparing technical specifications, component/systems design or improvements and maintainability/asset cost improvements.
  • You will manage multiple projects at any given time and be responsible for leading the technical engineering consultancy within client accounts/projects.
  • This position will be customer facing and you will be someone who feels confident discussing engineering problems and solutions in detail with clients and can communicate strongly with various different internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have:

Minimum of a HNC level qualification in Engineering or related discipline

  • Ideally experience within a technical support or project engineering role
  • Experience of Engineering Change Assurance Processes & Documentation
  • Broad knowledge of Mechanical Engineering systems within Transportation

Salary up to £65k, 25 Days holiday + BH, 37 hour week, Hybrid Working, Company Pension contributions up to 10%
