What You Will Do

  • Defining or delivering mechanical designs based on client specifications and relevant international design code and provide substantiation using relevant software package (CAESAR II, STAAD.Pro, PV Elite, Ansys etc.) for analysis and hand calculations.
  • Co-ordinating and take ownership of the mechanical design works of a package or project whether undertaken in-house or subcontracted with attention to required design deliverables (Calculations, reports, drawings etc.) and project delivery dates.
  • Working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team of engineers to deliver a design solution for a work package or project.
  • Reporting to the project manager and supervisor on design progress throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Supporting the sales team to determine scope of mechanical work and front-end design analysis where required for live enquiries.
  • Delivering and participating in; Kick off meetings, Progress meetings and internal and client design reviews.
  • Providing review and comments to technical documentation and drawings in conformance with Eta’s procedures and standards that make-up the company’s quality system.


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant technical field such as Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong adherence for safety and demonstrated safe work habits.
  • Experience as a Mechanical Engineer with a strong focus on piping design and analysis.
  • Experience in preparation and review of calculation reports.
  • Demonstratable track record of delivering on time, within budget, with quality and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Well organized and able to work independently.
  • Fluent in English language and strong report writing skills.


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Knowledge and experience designing to relevant international standards (ASME B31.3, ISO 14962, ASME VIII Division 1 and 2, AISC).
  • Knowledge and experience of designing metallic and composite piping systems.
  • Experience in the oil & gas, chemicals/petrochemicals or similarly regulated industry.
  • Experience of work package ownership and delivery.
  • Knowledge of heavy industry manufacturing and fabrication techniques and associated documentation
  • Experienced in the design of pressure vessels to recognized international codes using PV Elite or similar.
  • Experienced in the design of steel structures to recognized international codes using STAAD.Pro or similar.
