Mechanical Design Engineer, Oxford, £40,000 - £50,000pa plus 9 day fortnight and exceptional Benefits:



Our client is a market leader in the development of state-of-the-art scientific instrumentation. Due to a successful period of growth they are on the lookout for a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to help research, design, develop and evaluate designs and products which are used world-wide. This company also offer every other week, a 4 day condensed week.



The Role:

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be highly competent and motivated, with the ability to devise competitive solutions to meet challenging equipment requirements within the scientific and research community. They will also be responsible for validating design proposals through rigorous analysis and effective testing.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical concept design of high stability systems, involving high precision movements and control feedback
  • Interpreting customer requirements and translating them into cost effective and elegant solutions
  • Defining requirements in clear and concise terms that can be implemented by the product design teams
  • Working closely with Controls Engineers to develop precision motion controls and feedback systems
  • Communication with customers and assisting them in the development of solutions that will exceed their expectations
  • Maintain a flexible attitude and approach to changing priorities and requirements
  • Design and product review processes.
  • Experience dealing with bid proposals.
  • Providing back up calculations and analyses for proposed design solutions.



Qualifications and Requirements:

  • BSc or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Extensive 3D modelling and design experience.
  • Project Management Skills – Project costs, risk analysis, project planning and expediting.



Our client is offering an excellent salary and benefits package including 25 days holiday, a condensed 4 day working week every other, contributory pension, life insurance, relaxed and flexible working environment.
