Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer

Great opportunity to join a well-established building services consultancy delivering high-quality, innovative, and sustainable M&E design solutions across sectors including commercial and large-scale domestic.

Responsibilities
  • Develop mechanical design solutions for HVAC, plumbing, and other building services systems.
  • Produce detailed design drawings, specifications, and reports using AutoCAD and Revit (BIM Level 2).
  • Conduct site surveys and inspections to assess existing systems and inform design decisions.
  • Collaborate with electrical engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure coordinated designs.
  • Support energy and thermal modelling activities and Part L compliance assessments.
  • Assist in the preparation of performance specifications and tender documentation.
  • Attend project meetings and liaise with clients to understand requirements and present solutions.
  • Contribute to value engineering exercises and cost control discussions.
Beneficial Skills / Qualifications
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical building services design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; familiarity with thermal modelling software is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations, CIBSE guidelines, and sustainability principles.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to attend site visits and progress meetings.
