Position: IoT Systems Engineer

Location: Thornbury, Bradford

Salary: up to £50,000 + benefits
Employment: Full-time, on-site (limited hybrid flexibility)

Our client, a technology company based in Thornbury, Bradford, develops monitoring devices used for refrigeration environments for intracellular fluid. They are seeking an IoT Systems Engineer to support the deployment, integration and operation of their connected monitoring systems.

This role is primarily site-based, with occasional customer visits in the UK and abroad. A driving licence and valid passport are required.

Key Responsibilities

Deploy and support IoT systems using Node-RED, including building data flows and integrations.
Configure and manage IoT devices and gateways, including LoRaWAN (Chirpstack).
Maintain secure data pathways using HTTP/MQTT, APIs and industrial protocols (Modbus-TCP, OPC-UA).
Support deployments using Linux VMs, Docker, VPN/firewall rules (Azure NSGs, Cloudflare).
Commission and troubleshoot edge devices and networks on-site.
Maintain dashboards in ThingsBoard and support a small legacy IIS/SQL Server setup.
Contribute to scaling from early pilots (~100 devices) to larger rollouts.Skills and Experience Required:

Essential

Experience with Node-RED
Hands-on with LoRaWAN devices/platforms (e.g., Chirpstack)
IoT or connected systems deployment/support
Knowledge of Modbus-TCP, OPC-UA
Basic Linux & Docker skills
Understanding of secure networking (VPNs, NSGs, Cloudflare)
Familiarity with HTTP/MQTT and JSON dataPreferred
