The Role

As a IoT & Digital Engineering Solutions Sales Consultant, you will have a robust history in Consulting Sales, Pre-sales, and Solutioning within both Discrete Manufacturing and Process industries and extensive understanding of the UK/European market. The successful candidate will bring a balanced mix of technical expertise in Digital Engineering, Manufacturing, and IoT technologies, combined with demonstrable successes in consulting sales, pre-sales, and consulting engagements.


Key responsibilities:



  • Strengthen market position and establish TCS as a strategic growth and transformation partner for IoT & Digital Engineering services through the provision of thought leadership, consulting, and advisory services within the UK&I region.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to acquire new clients and logos.
  • Cross-sell and up-sell solutions and services to the existing client base.
  • Develop and execute strategic consulting sales and advisory business growth plans.
  • Partner with global cross-functional teams (Growth, Client Partners, Practices, and Delivery) to develop compelling value propositions, innovative offerings, and tailored solutions for clients.
  • Partner with various TCS teams and technology partners to deliver comprehensive digital engagements and enable solutions that bring clients' digital visions and strategies to fruition.
  • Lead solution campaigns and thought leadership initiatives, including co-authoring publications, speaking at key business events, and forming partnerships with technology vendors.
  • Report to the IoTDE Geo Sales Head.

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:



  • Significant experience in Consulting Sales, Pre-sales, and Solutioning for Digital Engineering and Manufacturing Operations, as well as Smart Manufacturing (covering Industry 4.0, IoT technologies, solutions, and services) across Discrete and Process industries such as Aero, Auto, CPG, Life Sciences, Energy, Chemical, Heavy Engineering, and High Tech.
  • Proven ability to position solutions, shape large deals, cross-sell and up-sell to both new and existing customers, consistently generate and convert pipeline opportunities, and demonstrate thought leadership in the sector.

  • Experience engaging with CXO and Director-level executives across IT and Business functions within client enterprises.
  • Strong grasp of Digital Engineering and Smart Manufacturing concepts, Manufacturing Operations Management, IT-OT convergence, Edge-to-Cloud technologies, Digital Twins, and Connected Digital Enterprises.
  • Proven track record of collaborating within a matrix organization and managing onsite/offshore delivery models.
  • Experience of collaborating with industry partners crafting integrated propositions tailored to customer challenges.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:



  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, Business, or related technical fields.
  • Extensive relevant professional experience, including a solid work experience in direct consulting sales, engagement, or pre-sales in IoT, Digital Engineering, and Manufacturing solutions and services.
  • Enthusiasm for thought leadership, innovation, and solution positioning.
  • Effective communication, influence, and negotiation skills.
  • Strategic thinking and strong analytical capabilities.
  • Results-driven approach with a consulting mindset.
  • Disciplined and structured work ethic.
