Role Purpose


Reporting to LoB Pricing Team Leader, The Senior Commercial Manager is responsible for defining and shaping Commercial Pricing propositions for Vodafone’s IoT Solutions that will be offered to Vodafone Business customers.

The Commercial Manager is responsible for actively leading all commercial pricing activities in supporting Vodafone’s IoT Solutions from launch and throughout their lifecycle for Vodafone Business Channels / Customers.

The Commercial Manager will also provide guidance across complex, multi tower customer opportunities, securing best in class pricing/commercial terms for all IoT solutions and services. Collaborate with cross-functional bid team to ensure timely and successful delivery of the customer submission.

• Commercial Operations business partner responsible for leading the Commercial Pricing activities in the new product development and product launches for IoT solutions to Vodafone Business Customers

• Creation and ongoing maintenance of Commercial pricing frameworks, acting as Subject Matter Expert to the Pricing Operations and Velocity teams to drive the creation of Price books, P&L tools, governance documentation. Including:

o Supporting self-serve capability through Velocity / CPQ and other digital platforms enabling Sales Teams and Customers to generate standard solution price proposals in digital market places in near future

o Training Commercial Operations team how to price IoT solutions prior to launch

• Continuous improvement, standardisation and harmonisation of IoT solutions pricing processes, P&L tools, and templates within LoB Commercial Operations and with other key stakeholders to enable quicker launch of IoT solutions

• After the launch, participate in periodical product sales performance reviews with Product Managers to address product competitiveness issues / challenges throughout the product life cycles and implement corrective actions in order to maintain service / product competitiveness throughout the lifecycle of the products / solutions

• Commercial Operations business partner to Vodafone Business Sales Teams delivering pricing strategy and propositions fit for large complex / multi tower opportunities

• Work collaboratively with stakeholders across Group Product, Commercial Enablement, and lead EDRA governance activities to obtain approvals from Vodafone Business for commercially viable price proposals including floor pricing, competitive price positioning target selling price, channel discounts, volume based tier discounts, reseller fees, etc

What you’ll do


• Creation and delivery of commercial pricing frameworks / price books for IoT solutions to drive the creation of Price books, P&L tools and governance documentation.
• Support self-serve pricing capability through Velocity / CPQ and other digital platforms enabling Sales Teams and Customers to generate standard solution price proposals in digital market places in near future
• Lead / coordinate EDRA governance activities to obtain approvals from Vodafone Business for commercially viable price proposals for IoT Solutions
• Support product teams with Pricing Collaterals summarising the Commercial Value Proposition, terms and conditions

Who you are


• Confident working with cross functional virtual teams, internally and externally, and a strong appreciation of new product launches and agile methodologies
• Demonstrable experience of leading / influencing conversations/ projects with senior leaders, working in high pressure, business critical environment
• Strong Commercial Modelling and articulation of value propositions to stakeholders across Vodafone Business
• Proven communication and stakeholder management skills up to C level
• Experience of working / launching new Telco ICT products or commercial proposition programmes.
• Experience of working on Complex ICT or Telecoms Customer Bid Opportunities and good understanding of Complex solution sales methodology
• Over 5 years of experience in Commercial, Pricing or Finance, pricing complex ICT or Telco solutions
• Data driven with strong analytical and insight focus
• Proficient in MS Excel / Database applications with the ability to construct complex commercial models
• Understand the competitive landscape of our markets, with focus on IoT connectivity Solutions
