Location: North England-Travel Required-Mileage Paid

Salary: Up to 70K depending on experience+ performance bonus

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Homecare to lead our growing domiciliary care service across Northern England, with a strong focus on commercial growth and service expansion.

Role Overview Reporting directly to the Operations Director, the Head of Homecare will oversee service delivery across multiple locations, ensuring all care provided is compliant, consistent, and aligned with Routes Healthcare's values and service aims. This is a strategic and commercially-driven leadership role focused on business growth, maximising contract utilisation, expanding private pay services, and developing our live-in care offering, whilst maintaining compliance and quality standards.

What You'll Do

  • Line manage and support Registered Managers and branch teams across your area.
  • Ensure services are legally compliant and meet both internal and external quality standards.
  • Drive substantial growth of the Home Care income stream by maximising existing contracts, expanding private pay client base, and developing our live-in care services.
  • Identify and capitalise on market opportunities to increase billable hours and service reach.
  • Act as a key link between the Operations team and frontline staff, ensuring timely flow of information and consistent service delivery.
  • Represent Routes Healthcare at internal and external meetings, including with commissioners and other stakeholders.
  • Be prepared to act as interim Registered Manager if required.

Key Responsibilities: Service Delivery & Compliance

  • Ensure regulatory and contractual obligations are met in all areas under your leadership.
  • Maintain high-quality care standards through robust quality assurance practices.
  • Promote adherence to company policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and information governance.

Leadership & People Management

  • Lead, coach and develop Branch Managers and their teams with a focus on commercial awareness and growth targets.
  • Participate in recruitment and performance management across your region.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive team culture that reflects the Routes Healthcare values.

Business Development & Commercial Growth

  • Spearhead strategies to maximise billable hours from existing contracts through efficient scheduling and capacity management.
  • Develop and execute plans to grow private pay client acquisition and retention across all branches.
  • Build and expand our live-in care service offering as a key growth area for the business.
  • Create targeted marketing approaches for different service lines and client demographics.
  • Monitor performance data and contribute to tendering and business opportunities.
  • Support budgeting, resourcing and bid processes.
  • Set and achieve ambitious growth targets for each branch and service line.

Communication & Reporting

  • Act as a conduit for communication between senior management and local teams.
  • Provide timely, accurate reports on commercial performance and growth metrics.
  • Escalate key issues when required.
  • Attend internal reviews and represent Routes Healthcare externally as needed.
