GP - Maternity Locum Cover - Cheviot Road Surgery

6 sessions GP Locum to cover Maternity at Cheviot Road Surgery. The job plan for the role will include mixed clinical duties including the management of a patient list. The role is for 6 sessions per week worked over Monday, Tuesdays, Thursday and Fridays from 8.30am till 6.30pm

The post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within Primary Care. The following list is not exhaustive.

In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-self available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion

Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.

Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards

Cheviot Road & Shirley Avenue Surgery, located in the West of Southampton are supported by 9 GP Partners and 6 salaried GPs along with a professional and dedicated team of Nurses and Additional staff through our PCN, Southampton West PCN. We have a personal list model and value continuity of care for our patients. We are a training practice and hold weekly educational meetings which you would be more than welcome to join and participate in.

You will be responsible for your list of patients and the associated administration including prescriptions and documents. We are an EMIS practice and utilise Docman.

• GMC Full Registration.
• Membership of a recognised defence union (MPS/MDU)
• Currently on performers list and never been removed from a performance list for detrimental reason.
• Experience of GP clinical IT system.
• A good understanding of Clinical Governance and quality issues as well as current health and social policy.
• Self-motivated and hardworking with the ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Empathetic, honest, caring.
• Use of EMIS PCS clinical computer system.
• Using Microsoft Office software.
• Experience of EMIS Web Clinical system.
• Experience of Primary Care.

• Evidence of recent self-directed learning or development.
• MRCGP
