Rolls Royce Motor Cars, Goodwood – Bespoke Engineering Intern – 12-Month Placement - (July 2026)

We have a number of placements within Engineering including Bespoke Engineering Electrical, Bespoke Interior Engineer and Liaison Engineering.

This intern role will be within the Bespoke Electrical Engineering Team and will require a high level of enthusiasm, creativity and Innovative thinking, with a keen interested in in Electronics and software (such as Arduino/Pi, Python/C/HTML).

Duties will include:

  • Support general Bespoke Engineering administrative activities alongside specific engineering tasks such as harness building, soldering, ECU/PCB work, and contribute creative input to experimental electronics with other engineers (blue-sky thinking).
  • Demonstrate awareness of CAN and LINbus for automotive applications and familiarity with automotive tools (Vector, Picoscope) and EMC test equipment to aid diagnostics and development.
  • As a Bespoke Interior Engineer, design and execute truly one-of-a-kind interiors that reflect luxury and personalization, collaborating closely with the in-house design team to turn visions into reality.
  • Translate design concepts into engineered solutions, blending premium materials, meticulous attention to detail, and strong engineering discipline to push automotive craftsmanship.
  • Conceptualize and engineer innovative interior solutions that push the boundaries of Rolls-Royce bespoke interiors and oversee production and installation of bespoke components for flawless execution.
  • Continuously research and integrate the latest trends, technologies, and techniques through the experimentation program, while supporting general Bespoke Engineering administration within the broader team.
What should I bring along?
  • Studying towards an Undergraduate degree in Automotive/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or suitable equivalent and on track to achieve a 2.1 standard or higher.
  • Self-motivation and a willing to learn is essential.
  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Broad Material knowledge – both automotive and high-end products.
  • Experience in New Product Development environment would be advantageous.
