Join CITB as a Vocational Instructor within the Plant Mechanic Training Team. Are you an experienced Plant Mechanic ready for a new challenge? Share your skills, shape the future, and make a real difference by training the next generation of plant professionals.


Location: National Construction College East, Bircham Newton, Norfolk


Hours of Work: Full-time (35 hours per week)


Contract: Permanent


Grade: SC3


Target Salary: £47,973 per annum


What you’ll be doing

  • Deliver high-quality training to learners at various stages of their careers.
  • Play a key role in shaping the future workforce by turning industry experience into a rewarding teaching career.
  • Deliver engaging theory and practical training sessions to apprentice and commercial learners.
  • Support learners through assessments and qualifications.
  • Maintain industry standards and ensure a safe learning environment.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement.

What we’re looking for

  • Minimum of Level 3 (or equivalent) vocational qualification directly related to the role.
  • Specialist licence to practice qualifications relevant to the role.
  • Relevant experience in the construction industry and excellent knowledge of current industry practices.
  • Minimum of Level 3 teaching qualification (or commitment to achieve within one year of commencing role).
  • Assessor Awards (or commitment to achieve within one year of commencing).
  • A passion for developing others and sharing knowledge.
