Overview

STS Aviation Services is hiring a B1 Structures Technician in Birmingham, United Kingdom. In this role, you will carry out structural modifications and maintenance in line with approved documentation and quality standards. You’ll take full ownership of the work performed, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout. Tasks will be assigned by a Lead Technician or B1 Engineer, and you’ll be expected to raise any issues, risks, or unsafe conditions that may impact programme execution.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Complete strip/removal of major structural aircraft equipment
  • Interpret technical manuals, technical drawings, and regulatory requirements
  • Installation of complex structural assemblies
  • Working to fine tolerances and high standards
  • Use sealants, various fasteners, bonding techniques as per technical standards
  • Maintain the highest standards of tool control within the work area
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment
Skills and Abilities:
  • Completed an engineering apprenticeship—ideally in Aeronautical engineering or military equivalent
  • Ideally 2 years live aircraft sheet metal/structural experience
  • Previous aircraft production experience
  • Previous aircraft modification experience is advantageous
  • Excellent hand skills
  • Eligible to work and live in the UK
  • Subject to UK security Vetting
  • Excellent knowledge of airframes
  • Reliability
  • Good interpersonal skills
