We are a friendly service, and welcome applications from a passionate and motivated Band 6 Physiotherapist, with previous Pulmonary Rehabilitation experience, to join our multidisciplinary, PRSAS accredited, team.

We are a large community integrated respiratory specialist service, working 7 days a week, that will give you a range and depth not commonly found in the community. Each area has its own senior expert lead.

We work very closely with our integrated partners, West Herts Hospitals Trust, where we share clinical medical leadership, and have joint pathways and governance. Together, we strive to make our patient experience better, trying new things and new ways of working. It's an exciting time to join us!

We offer a comprehensive induction and teaching programme for all new starters, irrespective of experience, and will support further education, attending courses / conferences and for some, working towards advanced practitioner as well as becoming an independent prescriber.

Main duties of the job

We are a multidisciplinary respiratory team delivering a community respiratory service in West Hertfordshire 7 days a week, providing expert specialist care to patients with chronic respiratory disease.

You will

  • Provide expert physiotherapy input and leadership to the Pulmonary Rehabilitation team.
  • Work with a diverse population and settings such as gyms and community halls.
  • Participate in research, audit and service improvement.
  • Engage in a comprehensive range of respiratory patient care alongside pulmonary rehabilitation, including home visits, clinics, virtual wards, home oxygen assessments, and hospital at home service.

To work within a multidisciplinary respiratory team to deliver community respiratory service in West Hertfordshire 7 days a week, providing expert specialist care to patients with chronic respiratory disease. This includes hospital at home (admission avoidance and virtual hospital discharge scheme), home oxygen assessment & review service and follow up clinics and home visits to provide

Obstructive sleep apnoea diagnostics, clinics and CPAP care

Non-Invasive ventilation for COPD clinics and BIPAP care

  • Nursing/ Paramedic/ Physio Degree qualification or equivalent
  • Current NMC /HCPC registration
  • Teaching/Mentorship qualification or equivalent experience
Experience
  • Experience of working with respiratory patients
  • Experience of working within acute or community setting.
  • With knowledge of relevant of National guidelines in Respiratory
  • Demonstrates ability to develop new initiatives.
  • Demonstrates ability to managing change
Skills and Knowledge
  • Good effective communication skills, verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to make decisions and prioritise actions.
  • Evidence of expertise in clinical skills
  • Experience of teaching others.
  • A working knowledge of clinical governance and evidence-based practice.
  • Ability to learn new skills and develop skills in physical assessment, spirometry, developing self-management action plans, capillary blood gas sampling, Feno.
  • Sound working knowledge of guidelines in the field of respiratory care.
