We are looking for experienced and ambitious Skilled Shift PSV Mechanic to join Arriva, based at our Hemel Hempstead depot.

As a PSV Engineer, your role would involve carrying out planned and preventative maintenance along with diagnostic fault finding and reactive repairs to a fleet of commercially operated buses & coaches, to the strict standards set by both Arriva, and the DVSA.

  • Overtime at time plus ½ for all additional hours worked over the working week.

The Role Of a PSV Mechanic Will Involve

  • Servicing, maintenance and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards.
  • Continuous improvement of vehicle reliability.
  • MOT preparation, planned preventative maintenance campaigns and quality checks.
  • Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance is kept to Arriva Standards (Higher than DVSA).
  • Attending roadside breakdowns.
  • Early/Day shift rota covering 5 out of 7 days Sunday to Saturday working with shift start patterns Day Shift: 8:30am – 4.30pm, Late Shift 2:00pm – 10:00pm

Requirements Of a PSV Mechanic

  • Qualifications for PSV/HGV maintenance and repair - Minimum of NVQ level 3 or any equivalent international qualification (will require confirmation).
  • A full UK driving licence (6 points or less).
  • Ability to be passed fit for a PCV pre-employment medical.
