Rate: 19/hour PAYE


Job Summary.

Reporting to the Industrialisation Manager, the ideal candidate will be part the test solution development department team and will have responsibility for the design assistance, build, implementation and support of manufacturing test solutions. A full range of disciplines from Mechanical Assembly, 3D printed parts design, Wiring and testing, Module Test and Functional test solutions


The key function of the role will be to provide full support to the Test Solution Development Engineers.


The successful candidate will be a team player, with a methodical and structured approach to work and excellent verbal and written communication skills.


The role will be based in Stafford UK.


Key Responsibilities.

  • Manufacture Electrical and Mechanical Test solutions to the Development Engineering Instructions
  • Provide test solution design support by completing the design of component parts & fixturing using 3D printing and simulation in Solid Works.
  • Support to our outsourcing partners.
  • This will require working as an individual, as part of a team and, where required, in association with Test Solution Providers.
  • Use existing standard approved / industry standard technologies, tools and processes through carefully risk managed implementation plans.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing including hands-on debug.
  • As required, support for local and outsourced projects.
  • Contribute to definition, development and continuous improvement of applicable processes, procedures and guidelines for the area of Test Solutions Development Engineering responsibilities.
  • Ensure test solutions comply with relevant safety & environmental legislation including Puwer Risk Assessments
  • Provide expertise to ensure the timely resolution of Production related issues occurring on the existing product ranges.
  • Support internal audits and ensure adherence to documented policies and procedures.

POSITION INTERFACES WITH:

R&D, Test Development Engineers, Industrialisation, Sourcing, Quality, Outsourcing partners, Approval Laboratories and Prototype Cell.


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

The candidate will have solid experience of manufacturing Test solutions from Mechanical and electrical drawings. In addition, he/she will possess the following attributes, skills and experience: -



  • Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Good knowledge of Electronic Circuitry.
  • Good Knowledge of Mechanical Drawings
  • Good knowledge and capability in 3D printing design in Solid Works
  • Capable of building a complete test solution
  • Have excellent attention to detail with a high standard of work.
  • Familiar with emerging design for manufacture and design for test philosophies.
  • Self-motivated and able to work autonomously.
  • Experience of test solutions for safety critical applications.
  • Knowledge of WEEE, RoHS and Reach legislation.

EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE OF THE FOLLOWING WOULD ALSO BE AN ADVANTAGE

  • CAD packages mechanical and electrical drawing creation.
  • PCB Assembly Conventional & SMT
  • Mathematical Modelling with respect to 3D printed component parts.

PREFERRED ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND

  • Qualification in HNC/D Electronic / mechanical Engineering or at least 3yrs proven experience from working in equivalent environment.
  • Knowledge of the electrical transmission & distribution industry would be advantageous.
