Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Shift pattern: double day shift 06.00 -14.00 wk1 / 13.45-22.00 wk2

Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the first-level escalation of breakdowns within the factory, working as part of the shift engineering team to ensure mechanical, electrical, and control issues are resolved promptly. The role also includes completion of preventative maintenance work orders to support continuous production efficiency.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Health & Safety: Follow all PPE, LOTO, and safe working procedures, ensuring compliance with company and legal standards.
Quality & Compliance: Maintain GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards, ensuring accurate documentation and audit readiness.
Operational Excellence: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and control breakdowns; execute planned maintenance and record activities in CMMS.
Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with Production and Quality teams to enhance equipment reliability, product quality, and operational performance.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Time-served Engineer with minimum NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
Proven experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, ideally within food or consumer goods.
Strong fault-finding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills across mechanical and electrical systems.
Effective communicator and team player with initiative, drive, and commitment to continuous improvement.
