Job Title:Mechanical Fitters – Military Vehicle Systems
Location:Coventry CV6
Vacancy Type:Full-time, Temp/Contract (6 months with potential extensions).
Core Hours: 08:00-16:35 (Mon–Thu) 08:00-15:10 (Fri).
Salary: £19 per hour (Fixed-Term Contract with benefits) OR £25 per hour (Ltd Company Contractor)

NP Aerospace is assembling a team of skilled Mechanical Fitters to support high-priority defence programmes in our Coventry facility. These temporary roles offer the chance to work at the sharp edge of military vehicle integration where precision, quality, and purpose meet.

We’re hiring 3 fitters to join our production teams immediately.

Contract Options

We’re offering two engagement routes, depending on how you want to work:

£19 per hour on a Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) with NP Aerospace – including full employee benefits (see below)

£25 per hour if you join as a Ltd Company Contractor (outside IR35) (paid monthly)

What you’ll be doing:You’ll support the assembly and integration of mechanical and electrical systems on low-volume, high-specification defence vehicles.

Assemble and fit mechanical and electrical sub-systems to precise tolerances

Follow technical drawings, work instructions, and quality standards

Use specialist tools, equipment, and chemicals safely and correctly

Inspect components and assemblies for quality and accuracy

Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and R&D teams

Contribute to lean manufacturing initiatives and process improvements

Work safely, consistently, and with pride in your craft

What you’ll bring:We’re looking for experienced, hands-on fitters with strong attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a high-performing team.

  • City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in Automotive, Mechanical or Vehicle Systems
  • Experience in mechanical fitting or low-volume vehicle assembly
  • Confident interpreting engineering drawings and working from schematics
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, quality-first environment
  • Proactive, team-focused attitude with a strong work ethic
