Mechanical Engineer (Field Based)

We are excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Field Service Engineer to join a leading, family-run engineering company that provides specialised equipment and systems to a variety of industries, including facilities maintenance, wastewater, and process plants.

Role Overview :
This is a UK-wide position, and a full, clean drivers licence is required. Travel will primarily be within the regions of Manchester, Birmingham, and Cumbria, with occasional further travel and overnight stays.
When staying overnight, you will receive a £15 "staying away" bonus, along with accommodation, meals, and other travel-related expenses.
You will be part of an on-call rota, with an additional £60 per week paid for this responsibility.
With the on-call and enhanced call out rates you could be earning £50k
Key Responsibilities :
Conduct general site maintenance, including electrical maintenance (training is provided however some basic level of electrical understanding, including safe isolation procedures).
Maintain various systems, including wastewater systems, boosted cold water systems for high-rise buildings, water treatment systems, and more.
Handle systems such as submersible pumps, motor/pump control systems, pipework and valve systems (including Ductile Iron, Copper, and Polyethylene), rainwater harvesting systems, and septic tanks.

Submersible and end suction pumps
Motor/pump control systems
Level control and sensing equipment
Pipework and valve systems (Ductile Iron, Copper, HDPE & MDPE)
Rainwater harvesting systems
Borehole pump systems

What Were Looking For :
Previous experience in any of the industries mentioned above is an advantage.
However, we will also consider candidates with transferrable engineering knowledge and skills from other sectors.
A proactive attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently are key.
