Job Description

Mechanical Commissioning Manager (Data Centre)

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Mechanical Commissioning Manager to be a vital part of our team. As a Mechanical Commissioning Manager, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing the commissioning process of mechanical systems across our projects. Your role will involve ensuring the successful installation, testing, and performance validation of a wide range of mechanical systems, including but not limited to HVAC systems i.e. Fans, AHUs, ductwork, VAVs, and refrigerant systems. You will be responsible for life support systems such as fire smoke damper systems, hydronic pipe works systems, evaporative cooling and waste heat recovery, and building automation systems (BAS) while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety. This role will initially be based in the UK, and you will later be assigned to projects across Europe.

Skills And Requirements

  • Commissioning Leadership: Take charge of planning and executing the commissioning process for mechanical systems on assigned projects. Collaborate with project teams to establish commissioning schedules and ensure timely project completion.
  • System Testing and Calibration: Conduct comprehensive testing and calibration of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, BAS instrumentation, and other relevant equipment, to validate their functionality and efficiency.
  • Issue Identification and Troubleshooting: Identify and address any issues, deviations, or deficiencies that arise during the commissioning process. Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to implement effective solutions.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of commissioning procedures, test results, and system performance. Prepare comprehensive commissioning reports for review and delivery to clients.
  • Client Interaction: Communicate with clients throughout the commissioning process, providing updates and addressing inquiries to ensure client satisfaction with the final deliverables.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with project managers, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems within the overall project.

Qualifications And Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Right to work in the European Economic Area essential.
  • Proven experience in commissioning mechanical systems for industrial or commercial projects.
  • Sound knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes, standards, and safety protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Effective time management skills to meet project deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site commissioning activities.
  • Data centre experience advantageous, but not essential.
