Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:00 pm)


Salary: PAYE: £15.31 per hour | Umbrella: £19.51 per hour


Are you an experienced Mechanic looking for a hands‑on role within a busy and supportive Transport team?


Network Recruitment Wales is seeking a skilled Mechanic (Grade 5) to join the Building Services & Maintenance division in Nantyglo for a 12‑week temporary assignment. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in maintaining essential fleet and plant equipment that supports local community services.


What You’ll Do

  • Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on a wide range of vehicles and equipment within the Transport fleet.
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out corrective repairs in line with safety and manufacturer standards.
  • Complete service records, job sheets, and maintenance documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements and workshop procedures at all times.
  • Support the wider Transport team in delivering high‑quality, reliable vehicle maintenance services to the organisation.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience working as a Mechanic, Vehicle Technician, or similar role within a workshop or fleet environment.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge, including the ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy workshop setting.
  • Good communication and organisational skills, with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
  • A flexible and proactive approach to meeting service needs.
