Mechanical Design Engineer – £45,000–£50,000 – Stockport

We are working with a well-established engineering business in Stockport, known for delivering high-quality mechanical products under one of their innovative brands. They’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing engineering team and contribute to the design of cutting-edge mechanical solutions.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of the full mechanical design process, from concept through to detailed design and manufacturing readiness. You’ll work on a variety of challenging and exciting projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, production, and product management to ensure designs meet performance, cost, and manufacturability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

* Develop robust, efficient, and manufacturable mechanical designs for new and existing products.

* Create detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings using Inventor (flexible on software knowledge).

* Conduct design reviews, testing, and analysis to ensure products meet quality and performance standards.

* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support product development and problem-solving.

* Identify opportunities to improve designs, reduce costs, and enhance product performance.
